The handheld gaming market is booming, with products ranging from the Steam Deck to the a***ogue Pocket offering diverse ways to game on the go. Many of the biggest names in the gaming industry have released a gaming handheld, including Valve, Asus, Lenovo, and MSI. For now, Microsoft is on the outside looking in, but it might not be that way for long. In a recent interview with Polygon at this year’s Game Developers Conference, Xbox chief Phil Spencer described how the company might be able to improve on current PC gaming handheld offerings. While nothing is confirmed yet, Spencer’s comments reveal that leadership at Xbox is seriously exploring the handheld form factor.
