Replicating video game items and costumes using a 3D printer is definitely one of my favorite uses of the tech. And while I love it when people create static replicas of in-game objects (like the time someone made a full Doom Guy suit, which was awesome), it's even better when the project actually achieves the same effect as it does in-game.
