There was a time when every small household problem ended with a trip to the hardware store. A drawer needed dividers, a shelf needed another bracket, or a tool needed a place to live, so I’d add it to the mental shopping list and eventually wander around looking for something close enough. That usually worked, but “close enough” was doing a lot of work. Once I got comfortable designing and printing simple functional parts, I realized how many of those little purchases were compromises I’d grown used to making.
