FreeBSD 15 does not feel designed to win a screenshot contest, and honestly, that’s part of why it caught my attention. It is not trying to look futuristic, reinvent app management, or turn every system update into a tiny product launch. It feels calm, deliberate, and almost stubborn about what it wants to be good at. After spending so much time around operating systems that keep trying to sell me on platforms, experiences, and ecosystems, that restraint feels surprisingly nice.

Usually, games never breach the player counts they attained at launch. Updates and DLCs can bump the number up again, but usually, the people who have already shown interest in the game have bought it. We rarely see a game exceed the player count it got at launch, and it's even rarer for games that released a decade ago.

The Windows taskbar is in the perfect position to serve as a productivity hub, yet it feels criminally underutilized. The Start Menu feels like a way for Microsoft to push its own apps, the widgets don't feel like much more than distractions, and I still manage to click the wrong thing when looking for items in my system tray.

Docker started as a convenient way for me to test apps without cluttering my system, but it gradually became the foundation of my entire developer workflow.
