There was once a time when you'd only hear "technical people" in the traditional sense talk about coding or building stuff. No-code building tools always lingered around, but compared to what we have now, the tools that existed back then were simply toys. The Fitbit app is no more. Along with the launch of the new Fitbit Air (which you can expect a full review of once we've spent more time with it), Google has officially replaced it with Google Health, as previously announced, and many of the responses we've seen so far are full of confusion, frustration, and requests to get the old app back. Synology network-attached storage (NAS) enclosures are among the best in the business, thanks in part to the operating system running on the turnkey devices. Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) is one of my favorite prebuilt NAS systems, as well as a shortlisted pick for best overall NAS OS. It's absolutely brilliant for most people using NAS. While not perfect, often limiting enthusiasts and those seeking more advanced functionality, it's ideal for beginners and those who simply wish to use their NAS to store some files and run a package or two. I have since moved my primary NAS to a custom DIY system, but I miss how amazing DSM still is.

Visual Studio Code (or one of its many forks) is used by a huge number of developers, and the thing that makes it worth using isn't really the editor at all. It's the extensions which make it applicable to practically any workflow or language. There's one for seemingly every language and every framework, and extensions that transform it from a simple editor to a productivity tool instead. Installing those extensions is a single click from a marketplace Microsoft runs, and that marketplace is the whole reason VS Code won. But it's also the part that security researchers have been sounding alarm bells over for years.

We knew it was coming for a while now. While the Nvidia Control Panel had enjoyed years of giving gamers driver updates and customisation over how the GPU works, we saw the first glimpses of the Nvidia App. It was pitched as the successor to the Control Panel, and while it wasn't quite ready to supercede it on release, Nvidia slowly began moving features over to the App.

We all know Windows 11 isn't perfect, but some of its quirks are most noticeable when you have a multi-monitor setup. For instance, something as simple as finding your cursor can get annoying when you have three monitors arranged neatly on your desk. Then, there are the headaches that come with managing windows across multiple displays. When you think about how much time you spend organizing windows before you can get to work, you'll wonder why Windows still makes you do so much of it manually.
