Event Viewer and I have an understanding. It fills up with thousands of red X’s and yellow triangles, and I ignore it until something visibly breaks. It’s been that way since I was running Windows XP on an ex-enterprise HP laptop, and I’d bet that’s the same for most of you. Windows logs everything with the enthusiasm of a paralegal, and it’s hard to tell which of those errors and warning signs are actionable and which are just random noise. Like, there might be some explanation of why my PC had a blue screen of death (BSOD) last week, but it’ll be buried under a thousand DCOM errors that are pure noise.
