Microsoft tested a lot of new stuff after the Windows 10 release, and the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and Windows Subsystem for Android are two prime examples. WSA had a rocky start and didn't last long before Microsoft axed the project. However, WSL continued to survive and improve, and with the WSL 2 update, things have gotten better. I am not new to WSL and have found the idea of running a real Linux machine with a Linux kernel on a Windows PC quite fascinating. It is lighter than standard virtualization, and most people don't even know that Windows ships with it.

Vibe-coding and vibe-designing tools have become their own category, and the bigger names get most of the attention: Replit, Lovable, Bolt, Figma Make, and more recently Claude Design. As someone studying design alongside writing about it, I've been pulled into testing most of them partly out of curiosity, but also because it's not something we can ignore in the UX/UI space for much longer. The appeal isn't even really about replacing design tools either, it's about speeding up workflows or giving yourself a starting point when you're staring at a blank canvas.

AI is promising, but it's also reaching a point where it's no longer very economical to run, especially at scale. Even consumer-focused AI subscriptions are becoming expensive. For example, Claude's higher-tier plan starts at $200 per month, which is not the kind of subscription fee you typically see in the consumer market.

Over the past six months, I have been convinced that my router was quietly dying. The pages loaded slowly, video streams buffered every minute, and video calls often dropped.
