After finally investing in a high-capacity NAS, I decided it was time to start creating my own private streaming platform by ripping my hundreds of Blu-rays. There were two obvious contenders dominating the home lab space.

My 3D printing folder used to make sense mostly because I was the one who made the mess. I had downloaded models, edited versions, slicer files, reference images, and my own revisions sitting beside one another, usually with filenames that felt perfectly obvious when I created them. Months later, names like final, final2, and fixed weren't nearly as helpful as I'd convinced myself they would be. Moving those files into Manyfold on my NAS didn't just make the library cleaner. It made old projects much easier to understand when I came back to them.

I feel like Notion sits in a strange spot for many users right now. There are enough people who rely on it so that leaving it feels like a hassle, but the free tier keeps getting narrower every year. The 5MB per-file upload cap hasn't moved in ages and page history is still stuck at 7 days on Free. The pricing side is getting worse too. Notion killed the $10 AI add-on last year, so if you actually want meaningful AI usage, you're on Business at $20 a month, and that's billed annually.

Data leaks of games from the past, whether they were actually released or not, are always fascinating. For games that never made it out the gate, there's a cool element of imagining what the game would have looked like as a full release. For games that did release, it gives cool insight into how the developers fleshed out the game into the form we know today, and we may even see cut content that we wish never got dropped.

Sony Music and Warner Chappell have filed suit against Anthropic in the US District Court for the Northern District of California seeking damages for "tens of thousands" copyrighted works. The companies are asking for up to $150,000 per work, plus up to $25,000 for each instance when identifiable copyright data was stripped. In total, the damages could amount to several billion dollars if a court finds in Sony and Warner's favor and awards the maximum amount. When you already have a Wi-Fi router and mobile devices with 5G or LTE, there's almost no reason to even think about the hotspot feature on any of your devices unless your ISP is down. But recently, I faced a completely different issue. My Wi-Fi router stopped working altogether, but my internet connection itself was perfectly fine. I got my PC back online by plugging the Ethernet cable from the fiber ONT directly into my motherboard's Ethernet port, but that still left my MacBook and iPad without Wi-Fi.
