For years, I treated Firefox like a sacred relic—the last bastion of privacy in a web consumed by data-hungry giants. We all told ourselves that because Mozilla is a non-profit, we were safe from the algorithmic creep infesting every other corner of the browser-verse. Sadly, Firefox’s actions are still driven by a for-profit company under the non-profit foundation that Mozilla is, and its plans have taken a turn for the worse. The leadership at Mozilla, perhaps panicked by their dwindling market share or just chasing the latest shiny object, decided to shove AI into the one place I went to escape it.
