In the past couple of days, Microsoft has published roundups of all the new features it added to Excel and Teams in January 2025. Today, as we head towards the end of the month, it has done the same for Microsoft 365 Copilot, just like it does every month. This time around, there are nine new capabilities in total: three for admins and six for end users.

Meanwhile, YouTube is allowing Dr Disrespect to remonetize his account.Midnight Society, the game studio co-founded by Dr Disrespect (real name Herschel “Guy” Beahm) has shut down, killing the first-person shooter title it was developing. The studio made “significant” layoffs in September after terminating its relationship with the controversial streamer in June due to “inappropriate” messages he exchanged with a minor. YouTube, which also took action against Beahm in June by demonetizing his account, has now reinstated the streamer’s ability to make money on the platform. Well, it's been one turbulent week in tech, hasn't it? In case you haven't heard of DeepSeek, it's an LLM from China that has been around for a little while, but hit the public eye last Sunday. What followed was a whirlwind of activity: shareholders panicking and removing $1 trillion in stocks from the US AI and power market (about $600 billion of which was Nvidia stock), then DeepSeek was accused of training off ChatGPT's data, and then Microsoft added it as a supported model.
