Claude Code has already made our lives so much easier. But with the more recent announcement of Claude in Chrome, the tool has now become an absolute go-to for development. I'm saying this because, before this, if you were designing something or trying to point out a design bug, a front-end bug, or pretty much any issue with the UI, you had a couple of options. You could ask Claude to inspect the code and try to figure out what was wrong from there, or you could share screenshots of the issues you were seeing and explain what needed to be fixed.

OpenAI weighs hitting the brakes on AI, hoping rivals accept a ceasefire they might just ignore

In a race, it's always risky to stop to take a breather and hope that your opponents will do the same, especially if you're the one to beat. OpenAI seems to believe it has a shot, as it's currently mulling over putting the brakes on AI advancement for now, with...

A new feature coming to Slack will allow you to build interactive reports, polls, dashboards, presentations, microsites, and other tools directly inside a chat. I stopped letting Windows decide where my files go, and my SSD stopped filling up

Over the past few months, I've uncovered how the default settings Windows 11 decides are usually not in the best interest of users, whether it's about user experience, accessibility, resource allocation, or even power plans. Most of these are very obviously tuned in a way that's not optimal for most users, and for those with multiple drives, this aspect applies to storage as well.

One GPU setting made my entire PC quieter, and it has nothing to do with the fan curve

The first thing that comes to mind for most enthusiasts wherever power limiting is mentioned is that it would come with a fairly straightforward compromise. After all, less power should mean less performance, no matter whether it's applied to the CPU or the GPU. That, of course, is true, but...

After all, less power should mean less performance, no matter whether it's applied to the CPU or the GPU. That, of course, is true, but it's only half the story, and the other half would be surprising to most, if not all, especially if they haven't tinkered with the power slider in a while.

This self-hosted network scanner does one thing brilliantly — it tracks every device on your LAN without the bloat

There's certainly no shortage of network mapping and monitoring tools. There is one lightweight package I recently discovered and finally got around to testing. There's certainly no shortage of network mapping and monitoring tools. There is one lightweight package I recently discovered and finally got around to testing. LAN Orangutan (what a name) quickly became one of my favorite snappy Docker containers to have running within the home lab. It has bags of potential with an early release that already gets almost everything right. It's quick to deploy, keeps things simple, and provides an effective way to map out and monitor networks.

I replaced $180-a-year software subscription with my web-browser, and I wish I’d done it sooner

I used to treat Adobe Acrobat as one of those apps you simply needed if you worked with PDFs regularly. Whenever I came across a PDF-related task, my first thought was usually to find a dedicated tool that could handle it. Over time, though, I started questioning whether I was making things more complicated than they needed to be. Microsoft Edge had been sitting on my computer all along, and I hadn't really paid attention to what it could do with PDFs. Once I started using it more seriously, I realized I had been overlooking a useful part of a browser I already used every day.

The 3 tiny Docker containers that turned a cheap server into my private cloud

I used to think building a private cloud meant installing something massive like Nextcloud, configuring a dozen services, and turning a cheap server into another full-time project. I was wrong.

John Ternus, Apple CEO, holds an iPhone Duo at the launch event. | Bloomberg via Getty Images Apple was far from the first company to announce a passport-shaped folding phone this year, but that doesn't mean it wasn't copied. As my colleague Dom Preston already explained, it's almost impossible to keep product development secret when Apple and its competitors all share the same global suppliers. Apple's new CEO John Ternus and head of marketing Greg 'Joz' Joswiak addressed the topic during an interview with TechRadar's Lance Ulanoff and Mark Spoonauer of Tom's Guide."People knew through leaks that we were working on a foldable," said Joz. "Unfortunately, they got the aspect ratio, and a lot of coincidental instances of people fin …Read the full story at The Verge.
