The idea of using a single-board computer (SBC) rather than a Mini PC has grown in popularity in recent years, but a Raspberry Pi or something similar might not always be the best option. If you have a miniature computer lying around that you no longer need, it might be a better pick for a home server. After all, a home server requires superior overall performance, better power efficiency, and more — and those are areas where mini PCs excel.

I recently took up 3D printing as a hobby, since designing and creating items to use around the house seemed like an extremely cool idea to me. As a result, I've made accessories for my home office, upcycled broken furniture by printing replacement parts, and even printed last-minute gifts for friends when I've forgotten important occasions. Essentially, getting a 3D printer has made my life easier in a lot of ways. However, I faced several challenges when I initially got the printer home. Right from assembling the rails to leveling the bed, the experience was anything but rosy. Let's just say I expected things to be a lot smoother.

TariffsInternational shipping company DHL is temporarily suspending packages bound for consumers in the US that are valued at over $800 “until further notice.” The BBC reports that DHL was hit with a surge in formal customs clearances due to the Trump Administration’s new tariff changes, which added the need for additional paperwork for more packages. This isn’t just a problem for ecommerce giants like Shein and Temu, as it introduces a new hurdle for many companies that ship goods directly from China to customers in the United States. It’s also kicking in with only days left before the de minimis exception is set to expire on May 2nd, ending the rule that allowed packages valued under $800 to enter the US duty free, and for recipients in the US to receive up to $800 worth of stuff per day without paying import taxes.DHL explains the change in a statement posted to its site: Effective April 5, 2025, all shipments to the U.S. with a declared customs value over USD 800 require formal entry processing – down from the previous USD 2,500 threshold due to new U.S. Customs regulations. This change has caused a surge in formal customs clearances, which we are handling around the clock. While we are working diligently to scale up and manage this increase, shipments over USD 800—regardless of origin—may experience multi-day delays. To manage this, starting Monday, April 21, 2025, and until further notice, we will temporarily suspend B2C shipments to private individuals in the U.S. where the declared value exceeds USD 800.

If you're someone that loves to enjoy their favorite movies and TV shows on the big screen, then it's probably a good idea to invest in a top-tier media streaming device. While there are plenty of great options to choose from, we think this one from Google is going to be an excellent choice, offering fantastic performance, along with powerful software, and access to all the best apps.

For a long time, Mac and Windows have had a clear divide between them. Mac tends to be thought of as more aesthetic and minimalist, with a greater focus on design and looks, while Windows is thought of as the more accessible but messier alternative. Here's the good news: you can have your cake and eat it, too. By changing a few key settings on Windows, you can give it a more aesthetic, more minimalist experience that will put even Mac users to shame.

What better way to get your GPU's temperature than from its manufacturer's software? I mean, they made it, right? So surely their app would be the most reliable way to get readings. Unfortunately, it seems that's currently not the case with Nvidia's software. The company has been having a real time trying to make its drivers behave, and the latest bug ruins the accuracy of the temperature sensor. As such, if you're thinking of doing some stress-testing with your GPU to see how it holds up, you may want to hold off or use a third-party app.

Creating a functional and inspiring home office is crucial for effective remote work or focused personal projects. When I set out to build mine, I had a general idea of what I wanted, but of course, the journey wasn't without its missteps. Looking back at my own home office build, there are definitely things I'd approach differently next time.

Plex is a platform that offers both a free streaming service with movies, TV shows, and live TV, and a software solution to organize and stream your personal media collection. While the former isn’t particularly appealing to most users, Plex excels as a media server. It allows you to set up a server from which you can stream your media library to multiple devices and share content with others. If you’re tired of streaming service price hikes, plan changes, and password-sharing crackdowns, self-hosting and maintaining a home media library through Plex offers plenty of value, beyond the obvious privacy and cost-saving advantages.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is huge, jam-packed with regions to explore and targets to assassinate. It’s a great entry in the long-running franchise and appeals well to gamers who love the series’ RPG turn as well as those who preferred its stealth-first roots. Shadows has proven to be a hit with critics and audiences, enjoying an 81 metascore on Metacritic and a 90 player rating on OpenCritic.
