Getting a new NAS for your home or office is always exciting, but the setup process can also be a bit overwhelming with the sheer number of features and options thrown at you from the get-go. It’s fine to start with the basics during installation and explore advanced features later after you’ve familiarized yourself with the NAS. Even then, there are many useful NAS features that remain buried under flashier ones, which often take priority. So, here are some lesser-known NAS features you should start using to get the most out of your new device.

If you’ve been active in the home server ecosystem, you may have noticed the sheer number of operating systems available for your computing lab. For instance, the Rancher-based Harvester has grown into a fine platform for those who love tinkering, with regular updates further enhancing the functionality of this open-source OS. However, Proxmox is typically crowned as the emperor of virtualization platforms by the community… and that’s a notion I find hard to dispute. Having set up both platforms on my home lab, here are five reasons why I consider Proxmox better than its production-tier rival.

One of my favorite things about cloud gaming is that it lets you play graphically-intense games on the weakest of systems. A Chromebook is going to have a rough time trying to run Monster Hunter Wilds, but if you run the game on a cloud server and then connect to it through your laptop, you can hunt like the best of them without cooking your hardware. If you have no idea where to get started with cloud gaming, Nvidia has your back, as it has now added compatibility for Capcom's latest blockbuster game to its GeForce Now client.

English-speaking Gundam fans won’t have to wait long before they can stream dubbed versions of the franchise’s newest (and most difficult to pronounce) series.Today, Amazon Prime announced that it has secured the rights to stream dubbed and subbed versions of Gundam GQuuuuuuX, a new show produced by studio Khara, directed by Kazyua Tsurumaki, and co-written by Hideaki Anno and Yōji Enokido. Beginning April 8th, Amazon will begin streaming Gundam GQuuuuuuX in over over 240 countries as new episodes of the show simultaneously debut on Japanese television. GQuuuuuuX making its Western debut on Amazon tracks with the streamer’s recent moves to add highly-anticipated, Japanese animation like Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Look Back and Khara’s Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time to its catalog.Tsurumaki — who previously directed the original FLCL anime — said in a statement that it was an honor to work on GQuuuuuuX and that he was excited for Western fans to see what his creative team has cooked up.“FLCL was enjoyed by many fans overseas, which brought me great joy,” Tsurumaki said. “Now, after all these years, I am truly delighted to be able to present this new title through digital streaming. I sincerely hope audiences around the world will watch and enjoy it.”

Seeing a Raspberry Pi sitting around and collecting dust is a sad sight to behold. Raspberry Pis can be put to a lot of good uses, even old ones. As such, if you have a few SBC lying around and doing nothing, here are some ways to give them a second life. And yes, these can be done with older models of the Raspberry Pi; I'm going to assume that you don't have a spare Pi 5 lying around doing nothing, albeit you can still use one for the following projects if you so desire.

Mobile World Congress, or MWC, is one of the biggest trade shows in the world, and while there aren't a ton of proper computers coming out of this show, there are a lot of smartphones, plus some cool concept devices here and there. As is tradition, we've rounded up the very best products we saw at the show, so let's jump right into the good stuff. Here are the best products of MWC 2025.

While Obsidian has nailed the basics and offers a robust ecosystem, it still leaves a lot to desire. The UI is not user-friendly and feels bland, and the popular PKM tool relies on third-party extensions to fill in the feature gaps. If you have been hunting for an Obsidian alternative, you have come to the right place. Meet Logseq – it delivers a refreshingly different approach, prioritizes an intuitive, outline-first design, and offers all the essential add-ons to create a robust knowledge management system.

It's not really news to anyone that gamers aren't exactly lining up for Nvidia's RTX 50 series (not that they're in stock anyway). I was among the many hoping to upgrade to the RTX 5080 from the RTX 3080, but that ship has sailed. Nvidia offered no compelling reasons to make the switch, plus the prices and availability have been horrendous, to say the least. While I had initially decided to wait it out, I now have some alternatives in mind.

AMD's new RDNA 4-powered graphics cards are finally here, and the results are in — they're everything we hoped they would be. But to get the most out of your AMD Radeon 90 series GPU, there are some steps you should take to ensure your PC is primed and ready for 4K gaming. After spending considerable time with these new AMD RDNA 4 GPUs, I've rounded up some handy pointers for you to get more out of your GPU with a few clicks of the mouse.

Most people prioritize the CPU and GPU while building a gaming PC, as they're responsible for delivering the most performance, but overlooking other crucial components like the RAM can lead to PC bottlenecks. In fact, your PC's RAM is just as important as your CPU and GPU, especially in CPU-bound scenarios.

Nvidia's Blackwell architecture is here, and it's not been the best launch for the company. Cards have been catching fire, melting connectors and cables. A non-insignificant number of cards got past quality control with missing ROPs. There's no stock to be bought, prices are out of control, and performance just isn't where it should be after several years of development.

GIMP 3.0 has been long-awaited. While the GIMP developers haven’t yet released the stable version of GIMP 3.0, there have been three release candidates of 3.0 for testing and developing before the stable version is shortly released. GIMP 3.0 moves closer to Photoshop as a great alternative, and we see some improvements from GIMP’s developer team that make it a great creative software overall. It’s already a massive improvement on GIMP 2.0.
