It's a rarity that we see a company announcing features for its new products and then backtracking on the promise later on. But this is what AMD did with its new Ryzen 8000G APUs (Accelerated Processing Unit). After confirming support for ECC (Error-Correcting Code) memory in the Ryzen 8000G APUs at launch, the company has now taken a sharp U-turn and removed ECC RAM support from the APUs' specs page.

Toyota is investing $1.3 billion in its Kentucky plant to support the production of EVs. Toyota is pumping $1.3 billion into its factory in Kentucky for “future electrification efforts,” including the production of a currently unnamed three-row electric SUV for the US market. The news comes as a bit of a surprise, as the largest automaker in the world is also one of the most hostile toward the industry-wide shift to EVs. Toyota says the money will fund an EV assembly line at its Kentucky plant, as well as battery pack assembly with EV batteries supplied by its facility in North Carolina. The company has said it would invest a total of $17 billion in its US operations to support the shift to EVs. Each year, we're more and more impressed by the new kinds of technology that debut. Last year, we were awed by Lenovo Yoga Book 9i because of its design as a dual-screen laptop. This could be the future for versatility when it comes to laptops and this is the best of its kind so far. But at CES 2024, Asus announced a new version of its Zenbook lineup that would rival the Yoga Book 9i. The Asus Zenbook Duo will hit the market soon and looks to have taken last year's Yoga Book 9i and upgraded different features from it for an entirely different dual-screen experience.

On Monday, TFTCentral spotted that the warranties offered across Asus OLED displays have been quietly updated to include burn-in coverage of either two or three years. It was the latest incident in the city at a time when tensions around autonomous vehicles are particularly high after a driverless Cruise vehicle injured a pedestrian. The incident, which was first reported by Reuters, occurred at 3:02PM on February 6th at the intersection of 17th and Mississippi streets in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. A Google Maps Street View of the intersection shows a flat, well-lit area surrounded by warehouses with unprotected bike lanes on both streets. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) sets a 2030 target for heat pumps to make up 65 of residential heating, cooling, and water heating equipment sales. By 2040, the goal is for heat pumps to account for 90 percent of the HVAC and water heating market. Heat pumps are more energy efficient alternatives to traditional heating and cooling systems. And because they’re electric, they can feasibly run on renewables like wind and solar once there’s more clean energy coursing through power grids.
