One critical-sounding bug that seems to have spread to multiple users is losing access to internal storage, which ends up in a complete loss of data. Google confirmed that Chromebooks would get up to 10 years of software support from next year. But for Chromebooks that reached their end-of-life support, Google could be working on the ability to install the ChromeOS Flex to enhance their lifespan, just like how the serviceable life of unsupported PCs and Macs can be prolonged.

The change comes as Google prepares to (finally) disable third-party cookies by default in its Chrome browser, following similar moves by other browser makers like Mozilla and Apple to improve privacy.The change should fix an annoying issue in Drive that can prevent users from being able to download files if third-party cookies are disabled.
