Microsoft's Bing made a lot of headlines when OpenAI's generative AI technology was introduced earlier this year. To take the whole AI chat experience to a different level, the company keeps adding new features to Bing, the latest being the ability to start the chat on a desktop and continue it on a phone.

The HP Spectre lineup is where you'll get the best experience if you're looking for the best Windows convertible from the company, but if you're on a budget, there's the Envy line. While it's more mid-range and brings slightly cheaper starting costs, the HP Envy lineup is just as good, still offering features from the best HP laptops, like great webcams.

Image: Getty Polestar has found another product to slap its logo on, and it’s not an electric car. The Swedish-based, Chinese-owned EV maker will launch its own smartphone in December, Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath told CNBC at the IAA Mobility auto show in Munich, Germany, this week. The phone will be produced by Xingji Meizu, a smartphone company owned by Polestar’s parent company, Geely. It doesn’t sound like this will be an attempt to challenge China’s major smartphone makers like Apple and Oppo. As reported by Variety, Roku revealed the move in an 8-K SEC filing early on Wednesday and says it made the decision in an effort to reduce operating expenses. “The company determined to implement additional measures to continue to bring down its year-over-year operating expense growth rate,” the filing reads. A couple of weeks ago, Microsoft documented an issue affecting several Windows 10 and 11 customers who were reporting instances of Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with error messages of "UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR". This problem was seemingly impacting MSI customers who had installed the optional preview Windows update in August 2023, but after conducting an initial investigation, Microsoft emphasized that it was not to blame for these BSODs. Now, MSI has taken ownership for the issue and rolled out BIOS updates for affected motherboards.

According to a report published by the Mozilla Foundation on Wednesday, cars are “the official worst category of products for privacy” that it’s ever reviewed. Smartphones and other cellular-enabled mobile devices feature a slew of identifiers that separate a specific unit from the rest, and consumers largely don't ever need to interact with these identifiers. Things like serial numbers are occasionally used when it's time to service your device, but other than that, most users probably haven't even looked at these numbers since their original purchase. Of these identifiers, a mobile device's IMEI number is probably the most important of the lot. It stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity, and it's a number that all cellular devices have and give it a unique identity. This includes cellular tablets and great smartwatches. Finding and checking an IMEI number can be extremely useful in certain situations, so it's nice to know how to do it.
