The amazing USB-C gadgets that play old Nintendo cartridges

Before flash memory, Nintendo cartridges used tiny watch batteries to save their games, and those batteries were never meant to last this long. But it's not a huge deal, because I saved my family's save file months ago. My favorite alternative to Adobe Acrobat isn’t NitroPDF or FoxitPDF, it’s something free, private, and powerful

Finding a capable PDF editor usually means picking a side: sign up for a monthly Adobe Acrobat subscription, deal with the clunky interfaces of legacy tools like Foxit or Nitro, or upload sensitive agreements and invoices to shady online converters.

Tailscale recently made its free tier a lot more generous this year, with the user cap going up to 6 and the hundred-device cap being axed completely. I had been using it for easy remote access for my family far before the limit change, and right after, everyone decided that they wanted access to my media server around the same time. I quickly reached 6 users, and while I was tempted to just start paying Tailscale for more space, I decided to make use of the infrastructure I was already paying for with self-hosted NetBird, and I saved myself from paying a hefty monthly fee in the process.

I think automakers are finally getting the memo. Rather than try to reinvent the wheel with its new electric vehicle, Range Rover just made one that looks nearly identical to its lineup of gas-powered SUVs. They didn't try to pass off some sleek, spaceship-looking pod as a Range Rover. Sometimes familiar designs are the way to go. Of course, under the surface the Range Rover Electric is nothing like its internal combustion engine sporting brethren. Twin permanent magnet 260kW electric motors are powered by a double-stacked 118.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, with an estimated range of 330 real-world miles. The Trump administration has intervened in The New York Times' copyright lawsuit against OpenAI, making an argument in favor of the AI lab. Musk has bet his company - and his trillion-dollar pay package - on a stripped down, barebones autonomous driving system that eschews multiple sensors used by all of his rivals in favor of a camera-only approach.
