It's great to travel just about anywhere in the world. Modern marvels such as the aeroplane, lithium-ion batteries, and the automobile have allowed us to enjoy the wonders of the world without much effort. Compared to decades passed when you'd have to allocate weeks to traverse continents, you can now achieve this in mere hours, mostly in comfort that those back then could only imagine. What's more, we're able to take our digital lives with us, thanks to cloud computing, hefty battery tech, and incredible technological advances that allowed for the smartphone. This single device has all of your data in the palm of your hand, but some unsung heroes don't get the same recognition.

Any PC is more than just the sum of its parts. A lot of components and peripherals come together to make a PC what it is, but some parts elevate your experience beyond what you expect. Quality peripherals are one such aspect of any build, improving functionality as well as the perceived experience of using a PC. After using cheap, entry-level keyboards, mice, and headsets for years, I began investing in better-quality models that improved my productivity and increased the enjoyment I derived from my PC setup.

Dropbox doesn’t require an introduction. Like many, it has been my digital workhorse that seamlessly synced my files across devices. It was convenient, reliable, and got the job done without breaking a sweat. However, as I started dealing with sensitive and confidential stuff, I decided to ditch it in favor of a private alternative.

Well, it happened. To nobody’s surprise, Rockstar Games announced that they wouldn’t be meeting their 2025 release date for GTA VI. The game, which would have come out sometime later this year, is now scheduled for a May 2026 release.

So, I took the self-hosting route to build a bank of my favorite multimedia content. That's why I trusted Docker to ease the task of deploying and configuring various media apps. Using separate Docker containers, I can stream movies, shows, songs, podcasts, ebooks, and digital comics from a single machine at home. When away, I use Tailscale to remotely access and enjoy my humble library from anywhere remotely, and it even works on mobile data. For those who like to host their own home lab, it can be difficult to choose the most convenient way to access all of your services when you're travelling. Some people opt to expose their services to the wider internet and use a tool like Authelia or Authentik to gain access, while others rely on the built-in protections individual applications have. That's a rather insecure way of doing it, though, and your best option by far is to use a VPN like WireGuard, or a WireGuard-based mesh system like Tailscale or Pangolin.

In New York court on May 20th, lawyers for nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety argued that Meta, Amazon, Discord, Snap, 4chan, and other social media companies all bear responsibility for radicalizing a mass shooter. The companies defended themselves against claims that their respective design features - including recommendation algorithms - promoted racist content to a man who killed 10 people in 2022, then facilitated his deadly plan. It's a particularly grim test of a popular legal theory: that social networks are products that can be found legally defective when something goes wrong. In the world of fighting games, Capcom is the company with the most classic and iconic game releases that players love to revisit. The level of hype and excitement from playing Capcom arcade fighting games are what built the competitive fighting game community that we know today. But Street Fighter games wouldn't be the sole thing that expanded the legacy of Capcom fighters, especially after their characters crossed over with a rival company in the 90s, giving us some of the best crossover titles in video game history. And beyond that, new ideas and new technology helped create fighting game experiences that have stuck with people for decades. It's everything that fighting game players love brought together into a neat package labeled the Capcom Fighting Collection 2. It is the second bundle that gives people the Capcom titles they've wanted to see again for a long time.

The PS3 generation was certainly a strange one for PlayStation, but there were some incredible exclusives on that console. Unfortunately, the PS4 and, eventually, the PS5 aren't backwards compatible, meaning the only way to play PS3 games on a PS5 is via cloud streaming. Not only is that a terrible solution for these classic games, but it also means the available titles are limited to what the PlayStation allows on the surface. The best way to get PS3 games on the PS5 seems to be waiting for PlayStation to make an upgraded PlayStation 5 version, similar to the treatment Demon's Souls got for the PS5 launch. For this list, we went with the obvious classics that can't be played anywhere else unless you cloud stream. For the sake of simplicity, we bundled multiple games in a series together if there are multiple PS3 exclusives that need porting.

More upgraded blue slimes are on the way: Square Enix just announced that remakes of Dragon Quest 1 and its sequel are launching on October 3oth. The two games will be bundled together under the name Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake and will be available on the PS5, Xbox, PC, and both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.This is good news if you’re a fan of the series, given that the remake of DQIII turned out excellent, marrying the classic RPG gameplay with incredible visuals and sound, along with some welcome quality-of-life tweaks. For the new remakes, Square Enix says that “in addition to beautiful HD-2D graphics, a refined battle system, numerous quality-of-life updates, and major story additions, both remakes will feature a variety of new content.” As for what that new content is, details “will be revealed at a later date.”And if you’re wondering why this remake series kicked off with the third entry in the franchise, it’s because that’s how the storylines play out chronologically. DQIII is set years before its predecessors, and in DQI and II players take control of the descendants of the hero from the third game. It’s a little complicated, but in October newcomers will finally be able to complete the story.To that end, Square Enix will also be launching a digital-only collection with all three games, called Dragon Quest HD-2D Erdrick Trilogy Collection. It’ll be available for $99.99.
