More properties are being equipped with fibre connections, whether to a nearby cabinet from the internet service provider (ISP) or directly to the house. These connections offer speeds over 1,000 Mbps (or 1 Gbps), which can fully saturate a 1 Gbps local area network (LAN). Most ISP-provided routers will only have 1 Gbps ports for connecting devices, but some with faster ports and aftermarket options will more than likely offer superior specifications, so should you purchase a 2.5 Gbps-capable network switch, even if your internet is technically slower?

Over the past several months, criticism of Valve's Deck Verified program has been growing. The rating system that was designed to show what games do and don't work on Steam Deck has started to show some holes, as games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle ship with Verified badges despite performance issues on the Steam Deck. When you're choosing components for a build, what gets the lowest priority? Most users' answer would be the PC case. Despite housing every other component, the case is often treated as an afterthought, allocated the lowest portion of the budget. This is what I used to do on each of my previous builds — only on my latest PC did I realize my mistakes. Google Keep has finally expanded the text formatting options to its web app, almost two years after making them available for Android users. The update for Google’s web-based note-taking service is now rolling out to Google Workspace, Workspace Individual, and personal Google account users and provides new options for customizing text and heading styles. It may take a few weeks for the text formatting options to appear for everyone. The new formatting options are housed in the underlined “A” button found in the bottom left-hand corner of the updated Keep text editor. Clicking this will open a new toolbar that allows users to underline, bold, italicize, and remove formatting, alongside converting regular text into H1 or H2 headers. The changes should help Google Keep users on the web to add more structure to their notes, making it easier to lay out and find specific information. And hopefully, all that formatting will now sync between the web and Android versions to avoid having to re-edit things.
