The Command Line terminal is one of the most useful Windows tools available to the average user (or to advanced users, for that matter.) It allows you to bypass programs and issue commands straight to the core of your machine and is particularly useful for troubleshooting everything from your computer's hardware to issues on your network. Getting started with the Command Line terminal can be a little intimidating, but it doesn't have to. Behind the abbreviations and shortened entries are simple-to-understand commands.

I'm not pointing any fingers, but it's possible that you might unknowingly be hurting the performance of your gaming PC, even after using it for a few months (or years). You might not even know you're guilty of one or more of the following things, since Windows will not alert you in most cases. Alternatively, you might be ignoring some telltale signs, considering them "business as usual" for a gaming rig.

Windows File Explorer — the default file management tool for Windows OS — does a decent enough job when it comes to basic file management for everyday use. It didn't go through a lot of changes across Windows editions, so it's pretty familiar to an avid Windows user. However, if you're a power user or someone who has to deal with hundreds or even thousands of files daily and manage a cluttered drive setup, the default File Explorer isn't enough.

5 features that make Clementine the best music streaming software you need to use

I don’t blame you if Clementine slipped past your memory. The app was (sort of) dead for eight years, with its last stable release in 2016. But in late 2024, developers decided to revive it with rolling releases. Even with the rise of music streaming services, offline-first apps like Clementine...
I don’t blame you if Clementine slipped past your memory. The app was (sort of) dead for eight years, with its last stable release in 2016. But in late 2024, developers decided to revive it with rolling releases. Even with the rise of music streaming services, offline-first apps like Clementine serve as a great reminder of the past and can be useful if you have a large music collection. And if you happen to be looking for a music player, I’d like to make the case that Clementine is the best option available. Its clean user interface, wide platform support, and extensive audio format compatibility are hard to beat.

Donald Trump announces tariffs that could raise the price of almost everything you buy

At an event in the Rose Garden on Wednesday, Donald Trump unveiled a new set of planned tariffs that are being described as “short-sighted,” and having “no basis in logic,” and being compared to Great Depression-era policies. Holding a giant poster board blowing in the wind, Trump announced staggering new taxes on products coming into the US from abroad. Among the 60 countries listed, tariff rates ranged anywhere from 10 percent to nearly 50 percent: 34 percent for China, 46 percent for Vietnam, 20 percent for the EU, and 49 percent for Cambodia, among others. The US is the world’s biggest importer, bringing in trillions of dollars of goods every year. Relatively little is produced in the US, and the eye-watering taxes will impact supply chains across industries: tech products and gadgets, clothing, food, automobiles, and more. Seeing souring relations between the US and China, some companies have worked to diversify supply chains by moving manufacturing to other countries — Apple, for example, was producing billions of dollars worth of iPhones in India last fall to move away from China. Under Trump’s new plan, Indian imports would get slapped with 26 percent tariffs. The President did not explain how the rates were calculated, but if implemented the steep taxes will like make costs for retailers — and by extension, consumers — skyrocket. The Trump administration has regularly lied about who pays for tariffs, claiming that the exporting nation foots the bill. That’s not how tariffs work, no matter how many times Trump claims otherwise. The New York Times reports that the figures on the chart include a 10 percent “baseline” tariff, meaning the additional hike on Chinese products is 24 percent, plus 10 percent. After the event, Trump also signed an executive order closing the de minimis exemption, a little-known carve out that allows packages valued under $800 to enter the US duty free. Ultra cheap retailers like Shein, Temu, and Amazon Haul use the rule as a loophole to keep prices low, and buyers don’t have to pay any taxes that would otherwise apply to their purchases. By ending the exemption, Trump could destabilize the business model that has hooked Americans looking for a deal on China-reliant online retailers. The massive taxes on imports are reportedly in addition to existing tariffs the Trump administration has levied on imports. He’s also separately added taxes to vehicles and imports from top US trading partners like Canada and Mexico.

Backing up your data is one of the most vital practices you can do with technology. We're storing more and more in bits, and the risk of losing this sensitive information only increases each year. For World Backup Day, I'm rounding up some steps everyone should take, especially if you already have backup plans in place. There would be nothing more disastrous than a backup being required and something going wrong in the recovery process.

NotebookLM can now search the web, and it’s a game changer for research

NotebookLM, Google's AI-powered note-taking app, is one of the best AI tools available for students and researchers alike. While it's impressive, it's not without its flaws. NotebookLM, Google's AI-powered note-taking app, is one of the best AI tools available for students and researchers alike. While it's impressive, it's not without its flaws. I recently outlined four features I’d love for Google to add to NotebookLM next, but they just introduced a feature I never even knew I needed. And while part of me worries that NotebookLM could start hallucinating information (which, for now, it doesn’t), it’s still a neat addition.

Both Tab S10 FE tablets come in blue, gray, or silver.Samsung has launched the Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE Plus, the latest in its midrange Android tablet line, but they cost $50 more than their predecessors. For the first time neither tablet has a direct equivalent in the standard Tab S10 series. The FE is the smallest of the company’s current tablet offerings, while the FE Plus comes in a new screen size that sits in-between the S10 Plus and the S10 Ultra, meaning all four of Samsung’s Tab S10 tablets now come in different sizes. The S10 FE packs a 10.9-inch display, which has been Samsung’s “standard” tablet screen size for some time — but since the company never released a regular Tab S10, only Plus and Ultra models, it’s the first in that size for this series. The FE Plus offers a new 13.1-inch screen, larger than the 12.4-inch S10 Plus but smaller than the 14.6-inch Ultra. Both tablets still use LCD panels, rather than OLED, and are limited to 90Hz refresh rates. Despite the larger size the Plus model doesn’t feature a bigger battery than its predecessor, though both are slightly slimmer than before instead. They’re also both limited to a single rear camera — the Plus losing its ultrawide — but this has been upgraded to a new 13-megapixel sensor. They’ll ship running Android 15, along with Samsung’s usual suite of AI features. Both tablets are powered by the same Samsung Exynos 1580 chipset, an upgrade to the 1380 found in the Tab S9 FE models, and are offered with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. IP68 dust and water-resistance returns, as does support for the S Pen stylus — which is included in the box, but is a simplified version without support for Bluetooth features. That was true of last year’s FE tablets too, so likely would have happened regardless of the controversial decision to strip Bluetooth from the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s S Pen earlier this year. The Tab S10 FE and S10 FE Plus will both be available in the US from April 10th in gray, silver, or blue, though reservations are open now. The regular model starts at $499.99, with the Plus at $649.99 — both $50 increases on the previous generation. There’s also a 5G version of the smaller Tab S10 FE for $100 extra, though this only comes in gray.

Samsung’s new tablets are the best for students and creatives alike

Android tablets have often been overshadowed by iPads, despite offering excellent options, usually at much lower prices. Take Samsung’s tablets, for example. They're solid iPad alternatives, packed with powerful hardware, S Pen support, and multitasking features like DeX mode.
