When I began my 3D printing journey, I pretty much stuck to PLA alone for my models. In all fairness, that turned out to be the right call, since my early days as a 3D printing enthusiast were spent creating novelty prints, cool miniature models, and decorative accessories. However, things took a turn for the worse when I tried using PLA for functional models, as my painstakingly-printed STL files would become unusable anytime they got exposed to harsh conditions.
