I replaced my 3D printer’s stock hotend and unlocked printing speeds I didn’t think were possible
I used to think print speed was mostly a firmware game. Raise the acceleration a little, tweak the pressure advance, maybe switch slicers, and the printer would surely start moving like a machine from a completely different class. That idea held up right until I started pushing faster profiles and ran into the same ugly pattern over and over again. The printer could move quickly enough on paper, but the actual printed results kept exposing a hard limit somewhere in the system.
