For a long time, I assumed keeping several Linux PCs consistent meant keeping the installations themselves consistent. That usually meant cloning drives, restoring full-system images, or repeating the same setup routine, hoping I remembered everything I’d changed last time. Eventually, I realized that wasn’t the part I cared about. I don’t need three identical Linux installations; I need the parts I actually interact with every day to follow me from one machine to the next.

As a Linux fan, I always enjoy celebrating when it scores a win over the big companies. However, not in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine a Linux laptop would outsell its Windows version by over ten to one. Fortunately, I don't have to dream, as Framework has confirmed that the Fedora preorders for its new Laptop 12 are currently skyrocketing versus the Windows version, but it makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

Windows is designed to be helpful, but sometimes it can be a little too helpful. Such is the case of someone who discovered that, if they ran their laptop on the eco power plan for 15 days, Windows would automatically delete the GPU's drivers without telling them. And while it sounds like an annoying quirk, fixing it is surprisingly easy.

A little while ago, Microsoft confirmed that it had accidentally rolled out a new OneDrive Photos app to everyone's PCs a little earlier than expected. The bad news was that enterprise PCs weren't able to actually use the app because they didn't have the proper permissions to use it.
