My home network setup has been the most permanent of temporary solutions, but that's about to end. However, I'm not going to a combo router like one of my colleagues; instead, I'm splitting everything up into dedicated network appliances. My mesh system is being retired, and in its place is a shiny network rack, with a router, switches, backup power, and wired access points throughout the house.
