The Steam Machine finally shipped, the reviews are in, and the verdict on its silicon is blunter than Valve would like. Independent testing puts its GPU somewhere around a Radeon RX 6600, an Intel Arc B570, and an RTX 3060. These are all respectable cards if you had purchased them during their respective eras, but Valve is charging a premium for it. You receive more than just a normal PC for your money, but in terms of a pure price-to-performance ratio, you can do a lot better by just buying a cheap pre-built.
