For the majority of gamers, diminishing returns become severe. Moving to 8,000 Hz doesn't give you a competitive edge unless you're a professional player or gaming at an extremely high level. The question still remains, but it's not as black and white anymore because smaller models keep showing up that don't really care about your specs as much.

Microsoft’s obsession with AI integration began a couple of years ago, when the company announced Copilot as a web tool and then later added it to Windows. The company didn't stop there; it even built custom computers and partnered with OEMs to build PCs with custom chips for AI tasks. You might remember the Snapdragon X Elite processor lineup of Copilot+ PCs that promised an on-device AI experience, multiple AI features, and integrations with popular apps.

When I replaced my Ryzen 9 5900X with a 5800X3D a couple of years ago, the performance improvement was obvious almost immediately. Some games, like Valorant and Battlefield 2042, were clearly CPU-limited at 1440p when I had the 5900X, often leaving my RTX 4090 sitting at around 70–80% usage. After the upgrade, both ran significantly better, with GPU usage improving across the board. It was so good that I never felt the need to ditch AM4 unless I wanted the RTX 5090.
