The Reolink Argus 4 Pro supporting vanlife in Switzerland. As a part-time vanlifer, I’m constantly looking for opportunities to be alone in the world. But I also want to feel safe when parked overnight at an abandoned train station where there’s a non-zero chance of starring in a Netflix true-crime drama. That’s why I always travel with an axe, my reactive beagle, and — more recently — a pair of battery-powered Reolink Argus 4 Pro security cameras.I chose this particular 4K camera to test because it works directly over my Starlink Mini’s Wi-Fi connection (5GHz or 2.4GHz) and doesn’t need a SIM card or data plan like more expensive go-anywhere cellular cameras. Its IP66 rating makes it suitable for use indoors and out, even when I return home to maximize value for money. And because the camera has two lenses that automatically stitch together footage for a 180-degree field of view — I’ve been testing two Argus 4 Pro cameras for a full 360-degree view of the area around my van. There are two other things I really love about the Argus 4 Pro camera. First, it records directly to an SD card up to 512GB, which means no recurring monthly fees for cloud storage or services. Second, it’s fitted with a passive IR motion dete …Read the full story at The Verge.

Despite virtualization becoming more relevant and multiple drives (including external) installed on your PC, there are still good reasons to use multiple partitions on Windows PCs. Regarding Windows, you can partition your drives using the built-in Disk Management utility. However, other free tools offer additional features and can be easier to use. You may want to create a data partition, an encrypted partition, a smaller OS-only partition, or, one of the more common reasons, to install multiple operating systems for a dual-boot system. Whatever the reason you want to partition your drives, some free partitioning software solutions are easy to use and offer additional features.

For those in need of a top-notch new phone, there are more than a few choices in the Android world, but some of the best picks are Samsung Galaxy phones. Once you land on a Galaxy S25 Plus, though, you'll still need to find yourself a solid case. After all, you'll want to protect your investment in one of the best flagship devices around.

Here’s Porsche’s 2026 PCM setup. | Image: PorschePorsche is upgrading the infotainment in the upcoming 2026 model year Taycan, 911, Panamera, and Cayenne with “more responsive” software and features such as an Alexa personal assistant. The 2026 Porsche Communication Management (PCM) will get the Porsche App Center introduced in the Macan Electric. It provides “direct access to a large number of apps” and a “wide range of services” that can run on the touchscreen. In an email with The Verge, Porsche spokesperson Calvin Kim said these new models run on the MIB3 architecture, first launched in 2022, and not Google’s Android Automotive OS like in the Macan Electric.Apple’s delayed next-generation CarPlay was expected to be introduced on Porsche and Aston Martin vehicles, but Porsche made no mention of it in this announcement. The new system still has the same old CarPlay and Android Auto, though.Porsche’s in-car apps could reduce the need of phone mirroring services like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Many EV makers like Tesla, Rivian and GM don’t even include the ability to mirror your device and require you to subscribe to connectivity services inside the car.Porsche will include 10 years of Porsche Connect service standard in each of these new vehicles to “optimize the digital user experience.” Part of that experience also includes Amazon Alexa, which in addition to Porsche’s Voice Pilot, can be used as the drivers’ digital voice assistant. Alexa can play music and podcasts, open your garage door, edit to-do and shopping lists and more. Porsche doesn’t say if this is the revamped AI-powered Alexa Plus that Amazon announced in February.Porsche is also adding Dolby Atmos support with the new PCM system in models with premium audio equipment like Bose that can give occupants an immersive, spatial sound experience. 2026 Porsches can be ordered now and will arrive at US stores in “late summer 2025.”

Windows is constantly evolving, adding new features and removing others. Many times, changes are for the best, adding needed functionality or removing things that just drag down the experience, but other times, features that are removed can be sorely missed.

GeoGuessr on Steam looks an awful lot like GeoGuessr in a browser.12-year-old browser game GeoGuessr is getting a belated port to PC, with a new listing for the game now in the Steam Store. Despite its age, GeoGuessr will launch in Early Access when it goes on sale some time in April 2025.GeoGuessr first launched in 2013, and tasks players with figuring out their coordinates after being dropped into a random Google Street View location. Over the years it’s developed an unlikely competitive esports scene, which the Steam edition looks to capitalize on, with a focus on competitive modes and ranked play. The Steam listing explains that the game will remain in Early Access “for at least six months,” while the developers add “new game modes, maps, and competitive features.” At launch it will support ranked Solo Duels and unranked Team Duels, including cross-play with the browser version. What we don’t know is exactly when in April GeoGuessr will launch on Steam, or how much it will cost. While the game’s browser version was initially free, it now only allows you to make three guesses per day before requiring a paid subscription, starting from $2.49 per month. GeoGuessr’s iOS and Android apps are locked behind the $2.99 Pro Unlimited plan, but the Steam app will require a new account that will not be synced with existing Geoguessr accounts, so may have its own pricing structure.

Whenever someone thinks about a tablet, the first instinct is to mention the iPad. After all, it's the device that defines the category, and there's an iPad for everyone between the pricing tiers. But it's not always the best device for specific use cases; people who get eye strain from digital screens or those who like to do their reading or work outside when it's sunny. For those and some other specific users, an E Ink tablet like the Boox Tab Ultra or a Kindle can outperform the iPad and be a much better experience.

They say that change is the only constant. However, the more things change, the more they remain the same. So, what's the point of changing my PC habits if the status quo remains unchanged? Jokes aside, I've been using the same handful of programs on PC for years, and despite seeing recommendations for better alternatives on a daily basis, I don't see myself moving away from my favorites.

For most people, a laptop is a long-term investment, something they buy only once every few years. If your current device is nearing the end of its life, and you've been holding off for the perfect chance to upgrade, Amazon’s Big Spring Sale might just be your moment to snag a premium one at a solid discount.

Copilot AI agentsAfter Google and OpenAI offered up AI news on Tuesday, Microsoft has followed with announcements of its own, including details of two “deep reasoning” agents for Microsoft 365 Copilot that it claims are the first of their kind, dubbed Researcher and Analyst, as well as new capabilities for custom AI agents. Researcher relies on OpenAI’s deep research AI model to pull off “complex, multi-step research,” along with access to third-party data via connectors to sources like Salesforce or ServiceNow so that business customers can derive insights from across their tools.Analyst is based on the o3-mini reasoning model from OpenAI, and Microsoft claims that with chain-of-thought reasoning, it’s capable of turning raw data into spreadsheets, running Python code that you can view while it’s running, and operate on the level of a skilled data scientist, pulling together reports like this one (pdf). Those tools are scheduled to start rolling out in April to Microsoft 365 Copilot license holders in an early access program, along with new autonomous agent capabilities that are starting to roll out now in Copilot Studio. Microsoft claims the new agent flows in Copilot are powerful enough to “automate any task you can imagine” with rule-based workflows that include AI actions. The LinkedIn announcement describes situations like an agent flow that directs feedback emails to the correct team, but we’ll have to see it in action to find out how that’s better than adding a checkbox or two, or how well its “low code” experience really works, and if it can deliver on the promises AI companies are making about agents.

If you’re looking for some solid evidence that Microsoft’s strategy to bring Xbox games to PS5 is seeing some early success, look no further than Sony’s own PlayStation Store today. The top preordered games in the US PlayStation Store are Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5, with the $99.99 premium versions of both games proving the most popular.Resetera posters have noticed it’s the same story in the Canadian PlayStation Store and across a variety of European stores, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. Microsoft-owned Bethesda announced earlier this week that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will debut on PS5 on April 17th, with the premium version providing two days of early access starting April 15th. Forza Horizon 5 is also coming to Sony’s rival console on April 29th.Microsoft may have timed these two games perfectly for the PS5, amid a slow point for Sony’s own game studios, but the software maker has seen success with its earlier Xbox titles on PS5, too. Sea of Thieves debuted on PS5 in April last year and Sony revealed it was the top seller across the US, Canada, and EU markets a month later. It remained in Sony’s top downloads list for nearly six months.Microsoft’s Xbox everywhere strategy — which I’ve been covering closely in my Notepad newsletter over the past year — is clearly doing well on PS5, and I’d expect to see more titles land on Sony’s console throughout 2025 and beyond. Microsoft is also preparing a similar list of Xbox games for Nintendo’s Switch 2, with reports suggesting the next-gen console will launch in June with third-party games to follow later this year.
