There are plenty of great smartwatches to choose from, but if you're looking to buy something that will pair nicely with your iPhone, then the Apple Watch is going to be the only real option. I grew up modding consoles and handhelds. The Nintendo DS, the Wii, the 3DS, the PSP, and the PS2 are all devices that I modded at some point or another for homebrew, custom software, and other things. I have a Nintendo Switch that I modded as well, but nowadays, console modding is increasingly becoming more and more difficult, to the point that I'm getting worried about the future of console modding, what that may look like, and the ramifications it can have.

Just last week, Microsoft finally officially released Office LTSC 2024 for commercial customers, and Office 2024 is slated to become widely available in October for consumers in general. This offers an alternative to Microsoft's preferred subscription model with Microsoft 365, where you pay a monthly fee to get constant updates for the Office apps along other perks.

If a place is caught using fake reviews, Google will temporarily limit its reviews entirely. | Image: The Verge Google Maps is reeling in business pages engaging in fake reviews, and highlighting such activity to its users. Google will now impose restrictions against business profiles that violate the search giant’s Fake Engagement policy, such as temporarily removing reviews, blocking new reviews or ratings, and displaying a warning message on profiles that have had fake reviews deleted.The business profile restrictions were introduced in the UK earlier this year, but Search Engine Roundtable notes that the support page was updated in mid-September to seemingly apply globally. From a sleek interface to a robust set of first-party applications, there are plenty of reasons to love macOS. But unlike Windows and Linux, Apples flagship operating system is only available on proprietary hardware, making it far less accessible than its competitors. Even when Apple shipped MacBooks with Intel processors, it was quite difficult to emulate macOS on unsupported hardware.

Ever since the age of computing started, technological advancements have come by leaps and bounds. Some of these became foundational technologies, changing how we do things forever, while others were temporary fixes before the next big thing came on. But as time went on, these technologies were either replaced or integrated into other devices, and I think that's a shame. Some of these still have a place in the marketplace today, even if the companies that made them have moved on. With nostalgia biting hard and many of these technologies firmly passing into the retro realm, let's explore what could be.
