When building your new PC, the power supply unit (PSU) will provide power to all connected components. Be it your motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSDs, GPU, and case fans. They all draw power through the PSU. It's vital to spend a good amount of money on the PSU and purchase one from a reputable brand to ensure you have adequate protection and it's reliable for daily use. This is the only barrier between the national grid and your expensive PC parts.

The idea that one desktop operating system, like macOS, Windows, or Linux, can be the absolute best is a false notion. As much as I love using the best Macs for productivity work, I understand two basic factors that influence desktop users above all else. It's not about specs, hardware, user-interface, or even any one specific feature. Instead, the OS that you know how to use and feel familiar with will likely always be preferred, and the type of work you need to do will play a role as well. I've been a macOS user my entire life, and I don't think using Windows 11 will ever feel as natural to me as using macOS Sonoma.

AMD released the Ryzen 9000 series in 2024, running on the same AM5 platform as the Ryzen 7000 series of chips. Compared to previous-gen AMD processors, Zen 5 made notable efficiency and performance improvements. Sitting just behind the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X flagship is the Ryzen 9 9900X with 12 cores and 24 threads. It's an incredible chip, but so is the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X. Sure, it may have six fewer cores, but that's still six to work with at up to 5.4 GHz before overclocking.

Windows on Arm is getting another important piece of important software starting today. Vivaldi is the latest browser to join the party with full native support for Arm-based processors like the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite. This comes after pretty much all major browsers have already added support, including Google Chrome, Brave, Opera, Firefox, and, of course, Microsoft Edge.

After months of silence, Microsoft finally revealed that Copilot's most controversial feature, Recall, would be making a return starting in October . Not everyone was happy with its return, especially given how Microsoft needs to do a lot more to convince users to use Recall . Fortunately, it seems that the company has added the ability to uninstall Recall from Windows, but the feature may not roll out to everyone.

It might be hard to believe, but changing to a new keyboard can make a world of difference. Now, it's going to really depend on what type of keyboard you're upgrading from, but if you've never used or owned a mechanical keyboard we think you're missing out. Not only are you going to get a better typing experience, but it's also going to be a product that lasts and at the same time offers some repairability as well.
