Microsoft held two major events this week, with the biggest of the bunch taking place on Monday, May 20th. The company, alongside Qualcomm and a number of hardware partners, introduced the first wave of true AI PCs with Copilot+. In a single day, all at the same time, 14 new laptops were announced, with most of them becoming available to pre-order that same day. Outside of events like CES, that's kind of unprecedented, at least in recent history.

The agency has announced that it’s extending the program through October 2029, allowing people to file their taxes with one of the IRS’s partners for free.The Free File program got more attention recently after the IRS changed its rules in 2020 to prevent tax preppers from hiding their free services. If you've heard about Microsoft Copilot and want to use it on your Mac, you can go about doing that a few ways. You won't quite get the system-level integration Windows users enjoy, but you can get pretty close and make the program a part of your system instead of just a tab in your browser.

Apple launched the M4 processor with the 2024 iPad Pro, marking the first time the company showcased its new Arm chip on a tablet over a Mac. This makes the iPad Pro one of the most powerful devices Apple has available and that got me thinking. The Apple M series of processors are marvels. The company went from nothing (outside of mobile Arm development) to rolling out desktop-class chips with the Mac Pro in just a few years. How much of a market shake-up would occur if Apple released an M processor as a standalone product?

Bugs in software are very common, but none are quite as spooky as the one that's currently haunting iPhones running iOS 17.5. Users are reporting that photos they deleted long ago are reappearing for no observable reason. Worst of all, they always come back when deleted again, which makes those embarrassing images hard to get rid of for good.

The new ability is included in the Google Play services update for May 2024 that’s rolling out now, as reported by Android Authority.The new password sharing feature just applies to ones that are stored in Google Password Manager, the company’s service that natively stores your passwords and passkeys in Chrome and Android and is linked to your Google account. Jellyfin is one of the best Plex alternatives for a great NAS, and it's one that I personally use. It's a media server that can stream and transcode video for clients, and it's completely free and open source. It requires a bit of setup to get working, but it's well worth it once it's configured and working perfectly.

The vehicle was first introduced as a futuristic concept vehicle last year, and now it will launch in South Korea this July, followed by Europe in the second half of the year. Kia representative Karla Gonzalez tells The Verge that EV3 is also confirmed for the US — but there’s no timing announced.The EV3 will be the first production EV to get Kia’s voice-activated AI assistant that first popped up in the Kia K4.
