Buying a GPU for gaming is a big investment, considering the prices of not just the high-end but mid-range and "budget" graphics cards today. When you look at the current market and the slew of GPUs you can buy (excluding refurbished and used models), it can get slightly overwhelming to choose the best graphics card for your needs.

There was plenty announced at WWDC this year, from new versions of iOS and macOS, to the AI-ification of everything. But hidden in Apple's plethora of announcements was Private Cloud Compute (PCC), a technical model for offloading AI processing capabilities to the cloud in a privacy-focused manner. There's a lot to unpack about PCC, but one thing did catch our eye. It runs exclusively on Apple Silicon, making use of several semi-proprietary technologies like Secure Enclave in the cloud.

AI in some form or another has been a hot topic for years now, but the wave of investment that flooded the industry in the wake of ChatGPT's November 2022 release is something somewhat unprecedented in tech. It's been years since we've had a similar wave of such hype around new technology.

During the Apple WWDC 2024 keynote, the company showed off a slew of products and services to the world. The highlight was Apple Intelligence, which is the tech giant's answer to the growing AI assistant market. However, the company made a surprise turn when it announced it had a partnership with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT to the service too. Now, rumor has it that the tech giant plans to bring on Google Gemini as another third-party service users can pick from.

Apple will announce “at least” one other deal — to add Google Gemini, too — this fall, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter today.Gemini has been part of the iOS 18 chatbot rumors for as long as OpenAI has. Apple software boss Craig Federighi even hinted at a Google deal shortly after the keynote was over. Anthropic has been mixed up in these rumors as well, and Gurman also suggests Apple could announce a deal with that company at some point, if not this fall. Network-attached storage (NAS) is designed to run like a server where it's continuously online. This not only makes it so you can access stored data at any time of the day, but it also allows the NAS to be used for other services, such as media streaming. A major drawback to this operation is the power draw. The NAS will be sucking electricity through the connected power outlet while online.
