It previously tried opening up its source code for community development, though that project faced license pushback and was eventually pulled. Now, it has announced it's teaming up with Deezer to supply Winamp with music streaming capabilities.

For a while now, the Linux gaming scene has relied on Mesa's RADV driver to get AMD GPUs working on their PCs. While it's open-source and community-run, Valve has poured a lot of time, effort, and money into the project, allowing for AMD GPU performance on par with (or exceeding) Windows. COSMIC is quickly becoming my favorite desktop environment, but it's by no means perfect. It's not due to bad programming, though; it only got its first stable release back in December 2025, so it still needs some time to mature and receive bug fixes. Microsoft is working on an AI "super app" that combines Copilot's chat, coding, and agentic capabilities.
