This is the one DDR5 RAM deal you don’t want to miss
We've seen RAM prices skyrocket over the past several months, and while things might not get any better any time soon, we are starting to see deals on RAM and storage that could indicate otherwise.

Claude subscribers just lost access to OpenClaw and other third-party tools—unless they pay more
As AI has begun to take off, we're seeing the rise of services that allow you to attach your favorite AI model to it. Such is the case of OpenClaw, which allows you to use your API of choice to create a digital assistant that can help you perform tasks...

Anker’s Nebula P1 projector is the portable sound king
The Nebula P1 goes anywhere you can find a power source. The Soundcore Nebula P1 from Anker isn't the most portable Google TV projector I've ever reviewed, nor is it the brightest. It doesn't even have a built-in battery. Instead it's a decent video device that focuses on sound. The...
The Nebula P1's standout feature is a pair of speakers that detach to create true left- and right-channel separation. It sounds much better than typical all-in-ones like the supremely portable TCL PlayCube, Xgimi MoGo, or Anker's popular Capsule projectors.I've been testing the $799 (currently on sale for $639) Nebula P1 as I travel around the European countryside in my van. It's not my favorite portable projector, but …Read the full story at The Verge.

A 3D printing enclosure changed my print quality more than any nozzle, filament, or slicer setting ever did
For a long time, I treated print quality like a puzzle made up of little upgrades. I swapped nozzles, tried better filament, tuned retraction, adjusted temperatures, and spent far too much time staring at slicer previews. Some of those changes helped, at least a bit. None of them changed the...

I swapped nozzles, tried better filament, tuned retraction, adjusted temperatures, and spent far too much time staring at slicer previews. Some of those changes helped, at least a bit. None of them changed the overall consistency of my prints as I had hoped.

If you’re going AM5, this motherboard’s a smart pick at its new low price
Thinking about building a new PC? Well, you'll have a lot of things to consider, because parts at the moment aren't exactly cheap. If you can, we recommend holding off until prices for components like RAM and storage stabilize.

5 PC hardware downgrades the industry disguised as “progress”
You'd expect PC components to become more advanced in every respect as time goes on. Whether it's performance, value, features, efficiency, or flexibility, PC hardware is supposed to move forward. You'd expect PC components to become more advanced in every respect as time goes on. Whether it's performance, value, features, efficiency, or flexibility, PC hardware is supposed to move forward. However, over the last 10 years, the industry has conclusively moved backward in multiple departments, calling it progress instead of what it really is — a downgrade. GPU manufacturers are doing everything in their power to extract more money from you for the least possible upgrade they can offer. Motherboard ports are being cut down to provide consumers with less functionality instead of more. Modular memory has been replaced by soldered variants in laptops and compact PCs, and the budget segment is being gradually erased with each passing year. It seems like the transition of the PC hardware industry into a shell of its former self is all but complete.

Hi, friends! Welcome to Installer No. 122, your guide to the best and Verge-iest stuff in the world. (If you're new here, welcome, go 'Zona, and also you can read all the old editions at the Installer homepage.) This week, I've been reading about early Apple employees and weather apps and one-page productivity systems, watching Avatar: Fire and Ash on my phone in installments the way James Cameron intended, trying and failing to find a better Gmail address than the dumb one I picked 20 years ago, watching the Artemis II launch because space is awesome, buying a new mug that was too expensive but is extremely awesome, replacing my work soun …Read the full story at The Verge.

I ran Nvidia’s NemoClaw to see if OpenClaw is finally safe, but it still has the same problems

A couple of months back, I wrote about why you should stop using OpenClaw. The security vulnerabilities were bad, the architecture was broken by design, and the project's maintainers seemed more interested in shipping features than fixing the security issues that put users at risk. Since then, OpenClaw has only grown. It has almost 350,000 stars on GitHub, a marketplace full of third-party skills, and a community that treats it like the future of personal AI. Nvidia clearly agreed, because at GTC 2026, the company announced NemoClaw, a security-focused stack designed to wrap OpenClaw in the guardrails it needs.

Affinity going free after being acquired by Canva was a major deal in the design community. People started canceling their Adobe subscriptions because we now have the old Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher in one unified free app - Affinity. For most people on Windows and Mac, it basically settled the endless “Adobe alternatives” hunt. However, Linux users were still left out, and there’s also the looming fear that Canva could paywall features, plus, some users might not want to create an account just to create basic graphics.

Using OpenClaw with Claude AI is about to get a lot more expensive, thanks to Anthropic's new policy changes. Beginning April 4th at 3PM ET, users will "no longer be able to use your Claude subscription limits for third-party harnesses including OpenClaw," according to an email sent to users on Friday evening. Instead, if users want to use OpenClaw with Claude, they'll have to use a "pay-as-you-go option" that will be billed separate from their Claude subscription. With OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger now employed by OpenAI, Anthropic may also be encouraging subscribers to use more of its own tools, like Claude Cowork, instead. Steinber …Read the full story at The Verge.

Self-hosting journeys have various ways of getting off of the ground. In my case, my old gaming PC was begging for some sort of home, and instead of being relegated to storage, I decided to install Proxmox on it and give it a new lease on life. Mind you, this created another solution looking for a problem. I now had a box running in my closet drawing power, and I wasn't entirely sure what to do with it. But once I found the right software, things clicked fast, and these 5 apps made everything worth it.

When Microsoft releases a new preview build, it announces all the new features that are ready for testing in the changelog. However, there are some features the company doesn't announce but still make it into the preview build. These are usually experimental and work-in-progress tools that Microsoft doesn't want people stress-testing just yet, so it disables the tool and doesn't mention its existence.
