The March 21st “new era of work” event is targeted at Microsoft’s business customers and will feature new Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 devices for businesses, as we reported earlier this week, with a focus on Microsoft’s upcoming AI improvements to Windows 11.The Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 commercial versions will be minor spec bumps, according to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans. We've heard the rumors, but now it's official. Microsoft has announced a new digital event for March 21, where the company will focus on new announcements around Copilot, Windows, and Surface. Among the expected announcements are the company's latest flagship PCs with a focus on AI, the Surface Pro 10 and Laptop 6.

Rivian revealed its next electric vehicle, the R2, a more affordable SUV that the company is counting on having a much broader appeal than its stylish — and expensive — R1T trucks and R1S SUVs. The R2 won’t go into production until the first half of 2026, but when it does it will come with an estimated range of over 300 miles, a 0–60mph time of three seconds, and a starting price of $45,000 — placing it slightly below the current average selling price for a new internal combustion vehicle. The price could be even lower if it ends up qualifying for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. Rivian took a page from Steve Jobs and had “one more thing” to show off during its R2 reveal event in California today. And it was a stunner. The Rivian R3 is a slightly shorter, sportier-looking electric SUV than the R2, and it will come in a performance variant badged as R3X. Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe said the R3 “takes the package of R2 platform [and] shrinks it.” The R3 is “designed with even tighter dimensions–and at a lower price point–than R2,” the company said — though it didn’t immediately release the price of the R3. Apple made last-minute tweaks to the Digital Markets Act (DMA) compliance plan to add flexibility, but they’ve met mixed reactions among developers.Developers considering Apple’s post-DMA fee structure, which comes with a new “Core Technology Fee,” can now try them out and then switch back to the original terms — instead of, as originally announced, making the change a one-way trip. Ever since the Nintendo Switch launched, it feels like fans and the general gaming community have been highly anticipating a successor or refresh with improved hardware. Yet, seven years later, such an upgrade doesn't exist yet, and it's looking like we have to wait until 2025 for a Nintendo Switch 2, if the latest reports are to be believed.

Following months of rumors, Apple has announced a new pair of entry-level laptops, both equipped with Apple’s latest M3 chip. The 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air will start shipping tomorrow, March 8th, but you can still preorder them today for $1,099 and $1,299, respectively.According to Apple, the M3-powered MacBook Airs are faster than their M2-equipped predecessors, which is likely true in our limited testing (albeit by a small margin). Thanks to the new chip, the laptops also feature an improved 16-core Neural Engine that can “run optimized AI models,” along with hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading.
