Stop cranking infill to 50%, your 3D prints don’t need it

When I first got into 3D printing, I treated infill like a strength slider. If 10% was decent, then 20% had to be better, and 50% sounded even safer. That logic felt reasonable when I was still learning what actually made a print durable. It also led me to burn...
When I first got into 3D printing, I treated infill like a strength slider. If 10% was decent, then 20% had to be better, and 50% sounded even safer. That logic felt reasonable when I was still learning what actually made a print durable. It also led me to burn through far more filament than I needed, adding print time to almost everything I made. Looking back, I think infill is one of the most misunderstood slicer settings for everyday printing.

The XPS 16’s redesign proves Dell learned from its mistakes

Last year, Dell did us dirty by changing the XPS name to the Dell 16 Premium, and while the hardware was still good, the name sucked. To their eternal credit, the company listened to its fans, and the XPS name is back for 2026.

We've seen the rise of SSD prices over the past year or so, and it doesn't look like things will be changing anytime soon. So, when we get even a small deviation from the norm in terms of new pricing, it's usually a signal to pick up some storage, that is, if you really need it.

I stopped jumping between monitoring dashboards with one Claude Code command

I had built a solid monitoring setup for my homelab. I had visibility for uptime, system metrics, and network performance, but everything was scattered around separate dashboards. Portainer gave me basic information about my containers; Beszel gave the system metrics; Uptime Kuma gave the services' health; and Speedtest Tracker gave...

I gave Claude and NotebookLM the same job for a week — and fired one of them

It’s probably safe to say NotebookLM has been, and often still is, my go-to for a study sesh. It’s so easy yet so practical - you dump stuff in, ask questions, test your knowledge, and call it a day. The answers would point to something real instead of just sounding...
It’s probably safe to say NotebookLM has been, and often still is, my go-to for a study sesh. It’s so easy yet so practical - you dump stuff in, ask questions, test your knowledge, and call it a day. The answers would point to something real instead of just sounding confident or affirming whatever’s in your prompt. Then other AI tools came into the mix, and they’ve stepped up their game in the study department.

Is the ‘Holy Grail of batteries’ finally ready to bless us with its presence?

Earlier this year, a relatively unknown startup from Finland made a startling announcement: It had finally solved solid-state batteries. Not only that, but Donut Lab, a spinoff of Verge Motorcycles, said that its solid-state battery - long considered the "Holy Grail of batteries" for their high-density, durable, fast-charging abilities -...
Earlier this year, a relatively unknown startup from Finland made a startling announcement: It had finally solved solid-state batteries. Not only that, but Donut Lab, a spinoff of Verge Motorcycles, said that its solid-state battery - long considered the "Holy Grail of batteries" for their high-density, durable, fast-charging abilities - would go into production later this year.Battery experts were understandably skeptical. After all, solid-state batteries are one of those technologies, along with artificial general intelligence and the hyperloop, that seem perpetually two years away. And while most legitimate efforts in this field - whet …Read the full story at The Verge.

Microsoft Teams is finally fixing those awkward “can you hear me?” moments

Stop blaming your 3D printer for slow prints, your slicer settings are sabotaging you

A lot of people blame their 3D printer when prints take forever. It’s an easy assumption to make, especially when the machine is right there moving back and forth like it’s stuck in molasses. But in plenty of cases, the hardware isn’t the real problem. The bigger issue is that...
A lot of people blame their 3D printer when prints take forever. It’s an easy assumption to make, especially when the machine is right there moving back and forth like it’s stuck in molasses. But in plenty of cases, the hardware isn’t the real problem. The bigger issue is that the slicer is quietly telling the printer to work in the most time-wasting way possible.

Warp isn’t really a terminal anymore, and I tried its new agentic coding mode

Warp started out as a faster, prettier terminal. It used blocks instead of raw text, a modern input field, GPU rendering, and a UI that didn’t feel stuck in the 80s. But that version of Warp is basically gone now. What you’re looking at today is something else entirely.
