Someone made their own Moltclaw personal a**istant with a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W

OpenClaw has been making huge waves ever since people began discovering it back in December 2025, even if it wasn't called OpenClaw at the time. It had a rough time with naming, starting with Clawdbot, then moving to Moltbot after a takedown notice from Anthropic, and finally settling on OpenClaw.

The 8kg (less than 20 pounds) device typically consumes about 90W. Taara's big advantage is speed. It rivals fiber in terms of throughput and can also be deploye …Read the full story at The Verge.

Someone turned their Steam Deck into an awesome DS-like gaming machine

I have zero proof for this theory, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason Nintendo designed the DS the way that it did was to curb emulators. In the company's mind, having to emulate both screens, the touchscreen, the microphone, and even some unique in-game mechanics that happen when you close the clamshell case (like that one puzzle in Zelda) would make it really difficult. And I can imagine that emulator developers did struggle trying to get everything locked down.

How many AIs does it take to read a PDF?

Image: Kristen Radtke / The Verge Last November, the House Oversight Committee had just released 20,000 pages of documents from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, and Luke Igel and some friends were clicking around, trying to follow the threads of conversation through garbled email threads and a PDF viewer that was, frankly, "gross." In the coming months, the Department of Justice would release its own batches of files, more than three million of them - again, all PDFs.This was a problem. While the Department of Justice had run optical character recognition over the text, it was not very good, Igel said, rendering the files more or less unsearchable. "There was no interface …Read the full story at The Verge.

Running Windows Server at home taught me why nobody does it

I have always advocated a minimal, toned-down version of Windows, an operating system without all the unnecessary stuff, and that's when I heard about Windows Server. I have always advocated a minimal, toned-down version of Windows, an operating system without all the unnecessary stuff, and that's when I heard about Windows Server. Although it didn't fit my regular use case, I still had to give it a try, especially because Windows Server didn't need a Microsoft account, skipping, which is becoming increasingly tricky on other OS editions.

Phone companion apps are a very underrated niche. If you are on Windows or macOS and own either an Android or an iPhone, the cross-device features and interconnectivity are extremely helpful. My experience with Windows Phone Link taught me that Microsoft was serious about the app, and its current features eliminate the need to pick up my phone for calls or other frequent tasks.

Tweaking the power limits of your hardware used to be the hallmark of an enthusiast's build back in the era of the GTX 1080 Ti. For most, like myself, it was an experiment reserved for those who were daring enough to risk stability for a few extra frames. Times have certainly changed since then. Modern GPUs tend to have robust safety controls and usually come with accessible software, which is a change that has democratized hardware tuning to the point that even total newcomers can extract performance gains.

During my experience as a software engineer as well as a tech blogger, I’ve set up more machines than I can count, like fresh Linux installs, temporary test environments, and clean Windows setups. Over time, I realized productivity isn’t lost in big mistakes, but in tiny delays repeated all day: slow searches, messy output, forgotten commands, and constant context switching.
