CES 2026 is almost here, and Asus has many announcements of its own to share with the world. It starts with the Asus ROG brand, which has a slew of new gaming products with some interesting features and designs.

It feels like only a year ago that Dell killed all branding on its laptops, telling journalists we were wrong when we almost universally told them they were crazy. That's because it was only a year ago, but the company has seen the error of its ways and it's bringing back XPS, starting with a new Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16.

Like most laptop-makers, HP had a ton of announcements at CES 2026. At the top of its lineup are the new OmniBook Ultra and EliteBook X, and the company was kind enough to send some pre-production units to sample. Sorry, but that means no performance testing.

Xreal is having a big CES. It announced its new 1S AR glasses and the Switch 2-ready Neo dock that's also a battery - both of which are already available to buy. During Intel's CES 2026 keynote, the chipmaker revealed more information about the successor to its Lunar Lake chip series, the company's new 18A Panther Lake Core Ultra Series 3 laptop chips. Intel first showed off its Core Ultra Series 3 laptop chip line several months ago, and used CES as an opportunity to offer more details about the laptop CPU, alongside confirming that laptops with the new chip line will start shipping later this week.

It's easy to find a laptop PC that's either dedicated to handling AI processes or gaming, but you don't often see one targeted at both demographics. It makes sense on paper; both AI and gaming PCs need some beefy hardware to handle their workloads. However, we often see AI PCs for working professionals separated from the gaming scene.

The latest MSI Crosshair gaming laptop announced at CES today doesn't make any major changes, but does manage to fit improved specs into less space. According to MSI, the Crosshair 16 Max HX is 14.3 percent thinner than its predecessor, a difference of 2mm.
