This 16-inch laptop with a 3K OLED screen usually flies under the radar, but not now at $650

The Acer Swift 16 AI is a pretty good laptop. We reviewed it back when it cost $1,250 and found that it delivered in most areas. And while we probably wouldn't give this laptop a second thought, it's not popped back up on our radar, thanks to a steep discount...
The Acer Swift 16 AI is a pretty good laptop. We reviewed it back when it cost $1,250 and found that it delivered in most areas. And while we probably wouldn't give this laptop a second thought, it's not popped back up on our radar, thanks to a steep discount that knocks $600 off. For a limited time, you can score the Swift 16 AI for just $650. It's an impressive price for a laptop, and perfect if you're looking for something new.

I migrated from LastPass to a self-hosted Vaultwarden overnight

Password managers have been around for quite some time now, enabling and securing access to all your login credentials across hundreds of websites, if not thousands. LastPass was a service I used for some time, but the numerous security mishaps and changes in features and subscriptions made me rethink it. Self-hosting a password manager is possible with Vaultwarden, which is a server application for Bitwarden. I have been playing with self-hosted tools for the last year, especially incorporating tools like Jellyfin, NextCloud, Immich, and a few more. So, I decided to pack my bags and switch to a self-hosted password manager overnight.

On Friday, retro and arcade game publisher ININ Games surprisingly announced it's been able to "recalculate production" on offering a physical version of R-Type Dimensions III for the Switch 2 because "Two days ago Nintendo announced two new smaller cartridge sizes for Nintendo Switch 2." Physical games on the Switch 2 have been something of a contentious topic; full physical games are reportedly expensive for developers, while game-key cards don't actually have the game on the cart. But later in the day, ININ removed that line from its post and published a significant correction: "There has been no official announcement or confirmation fro …Read the full story at The Verge.

I used to use a Lenovo ThinkServer SR250 V2 and a few Dell PowerEdge R210 II servers powering the home lab. The reason is that I managed to grab a steal on some used enterprise gear. It became almost an obsession to browse classified websites for hours to spot any deals on older hardware that could be used inside the home lab. These deals always appeared almost too good to be true. Even some multi-CPU systems would cost as little as $100 if you looked long and hard enough.

I replaced Portainer with this modern Docker manager on my home server

Running a home server is a rewarding hobby that grows with you. There are always new apps and services to explore. While you might start off with a media server, there really is no end to what you can pull off. And while you might want to manually manage your Docker containers in the beginning to better learn how it works, a container manager tool can be extremely useful over time. For me, Portainer has been my dashboard of choice for years. It's given me easy control over all my containers and given me all the tools I need to diagnose logs and act on them as well. But as good as Portainer is, it sure has a lot of functionality built into it, too much in fact. And I've been wanting a tool that keeps it a bit simpler. Something that was focused just on getting new Docker containers up and running and giving me glanceable diagnostics. That's how I chanced upon Dockge. If you run in the home lab circles, there's a chance you've heard about it already.
