A few years back, LG released a 45-inch, 21:9 OLED monitor. It was, and continues to be, one of the most mind-boggling displays I've ever seen. Despite being so large and immersive, it came with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 — the same resolution you'll find on any 34-inch ultrawide. It just didn't look sharp enough with its massive size and steep 800R curve against some of the best gaming monitors. LG took the form factor back to the drawing board, added a few million pixels, and now we have the UltraGear 5K2K OLED.

Assassin's Creed exists in modern gaming as massive, open-world games that take their historical settings quite seriously. While you usually have to climb and stab your way through these games, they do function as historical tourism. The franchise has certainly changed over time, and there are some changes we still want to see, but the focus on historically accurate fiction has remained strong. In fact, the more modern games have leaned even further into this, which has resulted in this list being heavily populated by more recent Assassin's Creed games. This list is not based on the quality of the games themselves, although we have ranked the Assassin's Creed games before.

After staring at, scrolling through, and puzzling over Apple's new Liquid Glass design language on my iPhone for the better part of an afternoon, I don't hate it. But I also think it needs a little more time in the kiln.Apple announced Liquid Glass on Monday for all of its devices at WWDC 2025. Perhaps the most noticeable thing about it is that app icons, tab bars, and even the text magnifier you'll see when you hover over words feel, well, liquid-y and glassy.The idea seems to be that because they're "floating" a layer over things like your lockscreen wallpaper or text, the "glass" can be translucent to give you a sense of what's under them. It makes sense. The initial implementation in the iOS 26 developer beta has many of Apple's signature flourishes and attention to detail.But boy are the changes jarring when you first see them.Let me show you just how dramatically it changes things. OpenAI’s ChatGPT service is currently down for some users after the platform started experiencing performance issues on Tuesday morning. The chatbot responded with a “Hmm…something seems to have gone wrong” error message to my colleague after failing to load, and users across X and Reddit are reporting platform outages.Downdetector is showing that issues started at around 3AM ET, with multiple regions impacted globally. OpenAI’s own status page says that some users started experiencing “elevated error rates and latency” at that time, noting that the issues were affecting ChatGPT, its Sora text-to-video AI tool, and OpenAI APIs. As of 5:23AM ET, OpenAI has added a separate line for “elevated error rates on Sora” and later updated the ChatGPT status to “partial outage.”Some users are able to access ChatGPT, but finding that the service is sluggish and taking much longer than usual to respond. Others like myself are able to use the chatbot without any issues, so the outages and errors don’t seem to be impacting every user.OpenAI says it’s “continuing to investigate this issue.” It’s unclear what is causing the outages, or when regular service will be restored. The Nintendo Switch 2 has arrived, bringing new hardware from Nintendo for the first time since the Switch was released in 2017. Like many of Nintendo's consoles in the past two decades, the Switch 2 is coming in underpowered, even with an Nvidia chip powering the console. While some people are opting to buy a more powerful handheld, Nintendo proved with the Switch generation that being underpowered compared to the current Xbox and PlayStation consoles isn't an issue for first-party games.

Speakers on a stage led prayers and chants: “Freedom now” and “sí se puede.” In the shadow of LA’s city hall, participants held up signs reading “ICE out of LA”, “Keep LA families together”, “Educación no deportación.” When the morning rally came to a close and more demonstrators arrived, a march began through downtown, headed toward the detention center in Los Angeles. Organizers on microphones shouted “Peaceful protesting, no tagging!” as youth with hoodies pulled tight around their faces spray painted “fuck ICE” on buildings lining the streets. “Join us! You think Elon Musk gives a fuck?” a blond woman wearing a pink bandana yelled at a group of officers, her voice cracking.A band cruising alongside on an open flatbed truck serenaded dancing crowds singing along in Spanish, FUCK ICE on the band leader’s neon yellow shirt. Stopping at Los Angeles Plaza Park, the march turned into an impromptu dance party with demonstrators. Tensions heightened a few blocks down as demonstrators marched closer to the detention center. Outside of the federal building behind the detention center, the California National Guard was lined up alongside police in front of rows of windows tagged with “Fuck Trump.” Demonstrators faced them, blocking the street with cars, motorcycles, and their bodies, chanting iterations of  the same phrase. They called for the release of detainees — “Bring them home!” On the rooftop of a mall across the street, two young teens or preteens dropped their bicycles carrying Mexican and American flags to sit and watch and dangle their legs off the ledge.  Trump has targeted Los Angeles for a shock-and-awe military campaign; as the march continued, news broke that hundreds of Marines were being deployed to guard federal property. He’s painted protesters as invaders and “insurrectionists.” But at Monday’s actions, protesters The Verge spoke with at Grand Park were fighting for a future in the US. As some protesters and other members of the media started donning gas masks in the late afternoon heat, it was time for us to leave.“David Huerta is a mentor. He’s a dear friend. He’s someone that I have worked with for many years, someone that I worked with very closely. And I’m on the phone with him and talking to him every single day … I could only imagine if the highest ranking Latino leader in the labor movement was treated that way — What kind of treatment do immigrant workers face on the day at work every day? Starling Bank, one of the UK’s digital challenger banks, has launched a new AI-powered tool that will answer questions about your spending habits. You can now easily find out how much you’ve spent at Amazon in a particular month, how much money you’ve wasted on fast food outlets over the past year, or how much cash you’ve received over a particular period.Starling’s AI tool, or enhanced search as the bank calls it, is an opt-in feature that enables a prompt where you can ask questions about your spending habits. The tool, built with Google Gemini, even suggests prompts that are personalized to your spending patterns.Transactions are listed by retailer and are automatically sorted into more than 50 customizable categories, like bills, transport, and groceries. This makes it easy to see how much you’ve spent at a particular retailer over a period of time, or how much you’ve spent on categories like eating out. I checked to see how much I’ve spent on McDonald’s over the past year, and let’s just say I’m off Big Macs for the foreseeable future.You’ll be presented with a graph and analytics about your spending habits, along with a breakdown of individual payments to retailers in a particular category. It helps address the problem of having the ability to track your payments to retailers in banking apps, but not being able to easily manipulate that data and really understand your finances.“We believe that anyone and everyone can be ‘Good with money,’ so we’ve designed this feature so that people can engage with their finances in a way that feels natural to them,” says Harriet Rees, CIO of Starling Bank. “The more you talk or type, the more you’ll learn about your money management.”Starling is one of a few big digital banks in the UK that have taken a mobile-only approach to try and shake up banking in Britain.
