Apple announced a few new iPad models yesterday, majorly rehauling the lineup with newer and better options. While the new 13-inch iPad Air variant is getting a lot of attention, the star of the show at least for me is that svelte new iPad Pro model. It's honestly the first iPad that makes me want to go buy one right away, and I don't even like tablets that much.

At one point or another, everyone will run into issues with their computer. Sometimes, it's just one particular app that has suddenly decided to stop working. If you've ever run into an issue like that, Windows 11 actually lets you repair your apps without having to uninstall and install them freshly all over again.

The move from using the PCIe 3.0 standard to the PCIe 4.0 standard for SSDs happened in 2019, with another jump from PCIe 4.0 to PCIe 5.0 in 2021. PCI Express, as it is otherwise known, is a primary way of connecting high-performance PC components (like internal SSDs and graphics cards), and it's steadily being updated to deliver faster speeds and more bandwidth.

Wi-Fi is the primary way most people connect to the internet, whether its a phone, PC, or even a gaming console. It can be easy to forget just how that signal makes it into our homes, and for most of us, it involves a modem. A modem can convert the incoming signal from the cable lines coming into your home into a format that a router, and your connected devices, can use. In fact, the word modem is short for modulation demodulation.

WiiM has announced two new audiophile streaming devices for the high end of its wireless audio streaming devices. Called the WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Amp Pro, both support AirPlay 2, Chromecast, DLNA, and several other streaming protocols and will be available this summer. Both devices are equipped with a 32-bit / 384kHz ES9038 Q2M Sabre DAC. (Last year’s Wiim Amp used an ES9018 Sabre DAC instead). They also use Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity, and they each sport the same shrunken-down Mac Studio look.
