A new official White House app on Android and iOS takes the content from the White House website and copies it into app format. A tweet announcing the app on Friday morning appeared alongside a video joking about missile launches that also appears to feature an iPhone, rather than the elusive Trump Phone. There's no word about exclusive features or tie-ins with the phone or Trump Mobile services.A handful of tabs in the app mostly replicate pages that exist on the Trump Administration's version of the White House website, including news, livestreams, social feeds, and a gallery. A prominent "Get in Touch" button on the social feeds tab inc …Read the full story at The Verge.

Wait, the Trump phone might actually exist

The Trumpometer is just beginning to shift. | Image: The Verge / Shutterstock Where's the Trump phone? We're going to keep talking about it every week. We've reached out, as usual, to ask about the Trump phone's whereabouts. This week I think I've found an FCC listing for the phone, showing it's received certification to launch in the US.Last week I issued a reminder that Trump Mobile's T1 Phone does not exist, and may never exist, despite the fact that the company showed me a phone in an effort to convince me otherwise. Today instead I bring cause for optimism for the Trump phone believers: it appears to have been certified by the FCC.FCC listings for a smartphone with the trade name "T1" show that it was tested …Read the full story at The Verge.

Sony has announced that as of March 27th, 2026, the company is no longer accepting orders for nearly all the products in its CFexpress and SD memory card lines. You have probably never updated your BIOS, and the symptoms are clear as day

Updating the BIOS regularly comes naturally to some users. The average PC user, however, has probably not updated their BIOS in years, possibly never. BIOS updates aren't often spoken in the same vein as Windows and driver updates, and are ignored outside of troubleshooting scenarios. The old belief of "not fixing what ain't broke" contributes to countless PCs continuing without BIOS updates for years, since no glaring downsides are apparent. The negative effects of an outdated BIOS/UEFI, however, can be felt in multiple ways. Your PC's performance, stability, and security can be compromised if your firmware isn't updated. Motherboard manufacturers often release microcode updates to fix security flaws, improve system stability, and even increase performance. You don't need to jump to every single BIOS update on your motherboard's product page, but updating it now and then is highly recommended.

The cheapest smart home automation I ever set up cost me less than a dollar

Smart home automation usually gets framed as something that starts with a shopping list. A hub, a smart speaker, a few bulbs, a sensor or two, maybe a subscription somewhere in the stack, and at that point, it's transformed from a simple upgrade to a full-on home improvement project.

Hoarding 4K remuxes is what having a 70TB Plex sever is all about

DLSS is quietly saving Nvidia from a problem no GPU manufacturer can brute-force anymore

For 30 years, we've improved performance with more transistors, higher clock speeds, and more power, but in recent years, it feels like that era has finally come to an end. The RTX 5090's Blackwell chip is nearly 750 mm², which is extremely close to the 858 mm² maximum size a...
For 30 years, we've improved performance with more transistors, higher clock speeds, and more power, but in recent years, it feels like that era has finally come to an end. The RTX 5090's Blackwell chip is nearly 750 mm², which is extremely close to the 858 mm² maximum size a silicon wafer can physically handle. This means Nvidia can't just make chips bigger or hotter anymore. Instead, DLSS is a cheat code that uses AI to simulate the performance of a 1,000 W GPU using only 450 W of actual electricity.

If you spend a lot of time presenting or chatting over video, you know how big a difference a decent webcam can make. Thankfully, if you’re looking to level up your setup at home or at work, the last-gen Insta360 Link 2C is currently available for $119.99 ($30 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. That’s the lowest price we’ve seen so far this year and only $20 more than the webcam’s lowest price to date.Insta360 Link 2C webcamWhere to Buy: $149 $119.99 at Amazon $149 $119.99 at Best Buy $149 $119.99 at B&H PhotoThe Link 2C is the cheapest Link you can buy right now, and as such, it lacks the motorized gimbal found on its pricier counterparts. However, although it can’t physically follow you as you move around the room, it still uses AI-powered auto framing to digitally zoom and adjust, helping keep you — and anyone else you’re with — centered in the frame. Its half-inch sensor and 26-millimeter equivalent f1.8 lens also support up to 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps, which is a noticeable step up from the 720p or 1080p resolution found on most built-in laptop webcams.Like other models, the 2C comes with a magnetic mount that’s dead simple to attach to your monitor or laptop, and because it’s aimed at presentations, it supports a slew of useful gesture controls that let you zoom or activate features remotely without touching your computer. Overhead modes like DeskView, meanwhile, make it easy to display what’s on your desk, while an intuitive Smart Whiteboard mode allows you to keep your whiteboard squared off in frame so it’s always visible and properly aligned for those on the call. The webcam’s ability to filter out typing, traffic, and other background noise is just a plus.

Just recently, I talked about how the only reason I still needed to keep Windows on my PC was the fact that DaVinci Resolve did not work on Linux PCs without a discrete AMD or Nvidia GPU. But as it turns out, I was wrong, and now I no longer have a reason to keep Windows around.

I turned my home server into an AI appliance, and this is the stack that actually stuck

Self-hosting AI sounds exciting, but most setups quickly turn into complex experiments that are hard to maintain. I went through the same phase, installing every new tool, tweaking endless configurations, and constantly fixing things that broke after updates. Instead of improving my productivity, my home server started demanding more attention...

Switzerland tried to secure internet routing, but the industry just ignored it

Have you ever stopped to think about the enormity of the internet, the sheer amount of data packets that are transmitted worldwide every minute, let alone every day? It's a staggering amount, and that it functions at all, while still getting the data we need where it needs to go, is a technical marvel. Internet routing is the unsung hero of our digital infrastructure, designed to route around issues and find the best path at scale.
