I've bought several monitors over the past decade, mainly for gaming, from traditional high refresh rate LCDs to ultrawide OLEDs. And more often than not, when I set one up, my reaction is, "This doesn't look as good as the reviews I watched on YouTube." One of the main reasons I upgraded to the RTX 4090 a few years ago was to finally experience native 4K gaming. When I had the RTX 3090, I bought a 4K/160Hz monitor, which made me feel like I was getting ahead of my hardware at the time. Even though Nvidia advertised it as an "8K gaming GPU," I was rarely getting over 60FPS at native 4K in most AAA titles.
